This match “Man vs. Machine World Chess” held at the New York Athletic Club in New York City, sees four games of classical time control. Gary Kasparov takes on X3D Fritz in total virtual reality, with the Chessboard floating in the air between man and computer. Sanctioned by the International Computer Games Association (ICGA) and the US Chess Federation, this was the first Official World Chess Championship Man vs Machine in total virtual reality. The match ended 2-2 with 1 win, 1 loss and 2 draws for each.
