World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand defends his title against Russian Vladimir Kramnik in a twelve game match held in Bonn, Germany from October 14 to November 2, 2008. Kramnik has been granted a rematch after losing his title to Viswanathan Anand at the World Chess Championship 2007 in Mexico City. Anand retained the world Chess championship crown after drawing with Vladimir Kramnik in the 11th game with a final score of 61/2 to 4 1/2. The prize money was 1.5 Million Euros.
