The 2010 FIDE World Chess Championship took place in Sofia, Bulgaria between
current World Champion Viswanathan Anand and Veselin Topalov
from Saturday April 24 thru Thursday May 13, 2010. This match had the same format as in 2006 and 2008 previous Championships with twelve games including the tie-breaks. The time control allotted for the first 40 moves will be 120 minutes, 60 minutes for the next twenty moves, and for the rest of game will be 15 minutes with an addition of
30 seconds per move after move 61th has been played. Viswanathan Anand beats
Veselin Topalov by a 6½ - 5½ final score to remain the undisputed world champion. |
