The world Chess
championship 2014
was held from Nov. 7 to Nov. 28, 2014 in Sochi, Russia
under the auspices of the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
This 12-game match between the current world champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger Viswanathan Anand
would determine the 2014 world Chess champion. Time control
for the match was 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, 60 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting after move 61 has been made.
If necessary, tie-break games would be played.
Carlsen scores 6.5 points in game 11 to win the match and
remains the undisputed world champion. |
