I beg to differ.

The shortest game ever played was in fact a two move checkmate won by black.

Observe below:

1. g4 e5 2. f3 Qh4#

As you can see, this is the shortest checkmate that is possible in the game of Chess.

A short mate can be performed in two moves as you wrote.

A game held between Lance Darling and Richard Wood at the NWC on April 1983 is recorded as the shortest game ever played.

The moves are very similar from the moves you are sending: 1. g4 e6 2. f4 Qh4#
