Hello,

First, I would like to congratulate you for your website.

I am an amateur player just starting to play Chess and that's why I'm asking this question: why Deep Blue wins this game?

http://www.chess-poster.com/english/great_games/kasparov_deepblue_II/kasparov_vs_deepblue_II.htm

I'm referring to game number 6.

Thank you very much,
Juan

Dear viewer,

Deep Blue wins because Gary Kasparov abandoned the game by giving up.

In fact, in Deep Blue move 8 (Nxe6), the computer already had put a strain on Kasparov's position and his destiny was already sealed as shown later into the game.

At the moment when Kasparov resigns, his situation on the board was indefensible and it was just a matter of few more moves for Deep Blue to checkmate him.
