Dear friends:
I have been visiting your site every morning since September 2004 (it has been
three years). I like every section of it and I've been practicing on the section called
“Let’s Play Chess”.
For the past few years I have been able to choose what kind of opening I wish when I play black which is really good for a beginner like me.
Now, it seems like this feature is no longer available anymore. I can open this program, but nowhere to choose the
openings option.
Is there any change? or... have I done anything wrong? help.......
Thank you!!!!
Mrs. Campbell
Dear viewer,
Loskasoft software, which is the creator of the Chess Java program we use in our section of
“Let's Play Chess”, upgraded the game to version 1.12.
This change effectively lets a player change sides by pressing the
“New” button. By pressing this “New” button several times you can change sides from white to black back and forth. A different opening is made by the computer when playing the white side.
Nonetheless, we went back to the options we had before that let a player choose an opening for the computer when it plays the white pieces.
This option and the new upgrade may give more versatility to the game and more control for players to choose a desired
opening for the machine to play against.
To reflect the new changes, you may need to refresh your browser or clear your Internet files cache in your computer.
