service@chess-poster.com Hello,
I like to play
Chess online and sometimes I play with a friend at home. It has
happened to me that while playing Chess online, some people (playing
white) start a game with the following moves: 1. e4 e5 2. c4.
To me, this is a very strange way to start a game because just a few
people do it. Needles to say, I do not know this opening and I move
whatever I like. Most of the times I lose many games playing against
this particular opening.
What is the next move to follow in this opening, if any? Do these
sequence moves have an opening name?
Thank you much.
Dear viewer,
The name of this opening is Bavarian Gambit and it can be found in our openings page under the 'B' openings section. The initial Bavarian Gambit moves are: 1. e4 e5 2. c4 d5.
When playing black and after 1. e4 e5 2. c4, the next move to follow is 2. ... d5 because you have to challenge white in the center, even with a sacrifice move. See picture:
